EverNote
Great
free program for note taking and web clipping. Extremely
useful
for writing projects. Highlight anything while searching the web, and
in one click it is added to your notes (with the URL of the source
page). You can keep track of all your information,
including
passwords, recipes, addresses. EverNote is actually a free-form
database. Searching your notes is very easy. (I prefer
version 2.2 to the newer web-based client because it keeps
the
source URL with the note, so Works Cited is easier to build.)
Kompozer
Very
mature free program (similar to Dreamweaver) for building
web documents (HyperText Markup Language). Since you can cut
and
paste the HTML code it makes into the CE editor, you can use it for
formatting if you are writing in your journal, posting a comment, or
composing email in CE. Just use Kompozer's powerful editor to
format your work, then cut and paste the HTML code into the CE
edior. Be sure that "Enable HTML" just below the text box on
the
CE page is selected . If you use this method instead of composing
within CE, you can save your work locally in case of a crash.
Do
this for essay questions on online tests.
